Projects: White Hart, Milton Keynes
This former public house site is situated in the heart of a residential area in Bletchley which lies 3 miles to the south of Milton Keynes centre. The vacant public house has been derelict for two years now due to an arson attack. An extant planning approval for a 60 bed care home was achieved in 2011 by Andrew whilst working for a previous employer. Fluid Design were appointed by the client, a UK leader in the provision of mental health and rehabilitation facilities, to find a suitable site in the Midlands and immediately made contact with the current owner of the site.
The revised design achieves 32 en-suite bedrooms together with all specialist accommodation necessary for this type of facility contained within the previously approved footprint. Exterior treatment was revised from that of the extant approval to suit the operator’s corporate image. Full planning approval was achieved in March 2012.
Project value: £3.2m
