Projects: The Oaks, Residential Development, Bracknell
The scheme will see the replacement of an existing office structure and will deliver in its place a comprehensively planned and high quality residential development on a brownfield site in Berkshire. The scheme comprises Sixty-Five apartments, a mixture of one, two and three bedrooms, accommodated within two blocks in this very sustainable location.
The built form takes the shape of a T with a central circulation core provided within Block B. Block A consists of residential accommodation over Five floors, the fifth being a series of penthouses, set back from the main building line. Block B, which is screened from the road by Block A, provides four floors of accommodation. Both blocks are connected by an open, part glazed walkway at each floor level. Parking is provided largely within a basement, which covers the full extent of the building footprint, and at Ground Floor level local to Block A. The scheme will provide excellent living conditions in a safe and open environment.
The development has been carefully considered to offer a sensitive response to the sites existing context, setting and emerging Local Planning Policy.
The scheme went through an extensive pre-application process which resulted in the submitted proposals being very warmly received by the Local Planning Authority and Committee Members. Planning was achieved in February 2015.
