Projects: Elms, Birmingham
This site was originally home to a health centre which had been converted and extended in the past. Our client was of the opinion that the existing building was not fit for purpose so the site was cleared in readiness for a purpose built care home. Fluid Designs appointment involved gaining planning approval for the new building, receipt of Building Regulations approval, production of working drawings and site supervision during the construction phase.
The new two storey building provides intensive mental health rehabilitation service for female patients in the form of 10 en-suite bedrooms at first floor level with communal and occupational therapy facilities at ground floor. Externally the building has a simple pallet of materials which blend perfectly with the surrounding residential area. The client took occupation of the building in May 2012.
