Projects: Healthcare Development, Oxfordshire
This new C2 care facility sits on the site of a demolished 1960’s public house. The accommodation comprises of 53 en-suite beds over three floors together with the requisite day rooms and ancillary facilities. Staff facilities, kitchen, laundry and plant are all contained within the roof space. The site is a prominent corner plot in a residential area and although the building is large, due to the nature of use, its height to the eaves is in keeping with the demolished public house giving it a residential feel.
The elevations are broken up with projecting gables to give them articulation and interest and a palette of material and colours are used that comfortably blend with the surrounding area. Thirteen parking spaces are provided on site together with a designated ambulance/delivery bay.
The planning application was lodged in September and will be heard at committee at the end of November.
